Albuquerque, NM — Mayoral candidate Alpana Adair announced today her commitment to rebuilding trust between law enforcement and the community through expanded neighborhood-based policing and proactive crime prevention strategies.
“As mayor, I will ensure our officers are not just responding to crime—they’re helping prevent it,” said Adair. “That starts by assigning officers to consistent beats so they can build real relationships with the people and businesses they serve. When residents know their officers, and officers know their neighborhoods, safety becomes a shared effort—not a distant response.”
Adair’s plan includes expanding foot patrols, youth mentorship programs, and officer presence at schools and community centers. She also emphasized the creation of a citywide initiative to foster better communication between precincts and neighborhoods through regular forums and joint service projects.
“Our city needs a culture of safety rooted in trust, visibility, and partnership,” Adair said. “We’re going to shift from reactive policing to proactive community protection. Together, we’ll make Albuquerque safer—and restore pride in both our communities and our police force.”
